2010 Pago Pago Stakes Preview

February 9th, 2010

The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is the hot topic on race-goers minds at the moment as the city gears up to hold the state’s premier horse racing event.

One feature day during the carnival will, once again, be the prestigious Rosehill Guineas Day which this year lands on the 27th of March at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.

While the lucrative Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) is the headline event of the day, the running of the 2010 Pago Pago Stakes is another event to keep a keen eye on.

The Group 2 race will showcase the top two-year-old colts and geldings for the season.

The Group 2 race will showcase the top two-year-old colts and geldings for the season, and certainly give a good idea of the future of Australian horse racing, as the up-and-comers fight for a slice in the $150,000 purse.

Also racing on the 27th of March alongside the 2010 Pago Pago Stakes will be the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) and the Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m).
