Odds For The 2010 Pago Pago Stakes

March 25th, 2010

The highly regarded Rosehill Gardens Racecourse is hosting one of the most prestigious racedays in the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival this Saturday, and as the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) headlines the day’s events, there are another eight races to keep spectators busy.

One feature on Saturday’s Rosehill Guineas Day is the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) which will be the fourth race run, and with 12 fantastic colts and geldings competing, will no doubt provide a thrilling battle on the track.

Dominating the headlines as the colt to beat coming into the race is Hinchinbrook at $2.05.

Dominating the headlines as the colt to beat coming into the race is Hinchinbrook at $2.05.  With his last three runs resulting in two wins, including the Skyline Stakes where he beat fellow starters Brightexpectations and Pressday, the horse seems a safe bet.

However, Brightexpectations is another strong contender at $4. It was a surprise finish for the colt in the Skyline Stakes and no doubt will be looking for some revenge over Hinchinbrook.

Pressday and Carved In Stone, starting from the sixth and 10th barriers respectively, come into the Pago Pago Stakes at $6.

Master Harry, trained by Peter Moody, has been scratched from the race – disappointing as it would have been a good test for the colt that only has one race to his name.

Also taking place on Saturday alongside the 2010 Pago Pago Stakes is the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (1200m), the Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) and the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m).
