Mount Panorama has been a strong and consistent performer at black type level this time and remains outright $3.70 favourite in Pago Pago Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Lionhearted ($4) and Souchez ($4.20).

Will Mount Panorama justify favouritism and win the 2016 Pago Pago Stakes or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?

Mount Panorama ($3.70)

Drawn ideally in barrier 2, Mount Panorama undoubtedly faces a weaker field in the Pago Pago Stakes than his two most recent starts and should prove very hard to beat. Debuting in January for sixth in a Randwick minor over 1100m, the Sebring colt progressed to third in the Group 3 Canonbury Stakes (1100m) before again finishing third behind Astern and Defcon in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) on February 20th. Confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Brett Prebble, Mount Panorama still represents terrific value at current Pago Pago Stakes odds.

Souchez ($4.20)

Godolphin colt Souchez carries good form into the Pago Pago Stakes and will leave from the rails draw. Trialling well in the lead-up to his competitive debut, Souchez charged home to win the Schweppes Plate (1100m) on debut before immediately returning for a brief freshen-up with a view towards major autumn targets. Having resumed for a competitive third in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) a fortnight ago, the Lonhro colt is sure to be given a gem of a ride by lead Godolphin hoop James McDonald.

Aviator ($16)

Aviator has appeared on course only once competitively but has shown the signs of a legitimate black type performer and is arguably over the odds at a current $16 quote in Pago Pago Stakes betting markets. Jumping from the gates well in the Graeme Ferris Maiden (1100m) on February 24th, the Snitzel colt raced rather fresh but displayed a keen late turn of foot to comfortably find the line in the clear of his rivals. Kerrin McEvoy will take the ride on the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt.
